2. General
This website is a purely informational website. We use no cookies, no tracking and no analytics tools. There are no user accounts and no forms that transmit data to us. We process personal data only to the technically necessary extent described below (legal basis: Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO, i.e. Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interest in providing the website securely and efficiently).
3. Hosting and server log files
When you visit the website, our hosting provider automatically processes information transmitted by your browser (in particular IP address, date and time, page accessed, browser type and operating system). This data serves the delivery, stability and security of the website and is deleted after a short period. Where the hosting provider uses servers outside the EU, the transfer takes place on the basis of appropriate safeguards pursuant to Art. 44 ff. DSGVO (Art. 44 et seq. GDPR), in particular EU standard contractual clauses.
4. Fonts (Google Fonts)
This website embeds fonts from Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). When the page loads, your browser retrieves the fonts from Google servers; in doing so, your IP address is transmitted to Google. The fonts are embedded in the interest of a consistent presentation (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO, i.e. Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Further information: policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Externally embedded content
Individual images and documents are loaded from third-party servers (in particular Wix.com Ltd. as an image CDN, steinbeis.de for magazine covers and PDFs, and Wikimedia Commons). When this content is loaded, your IP address is transmitted to the respective provider (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO, i.e. Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process your details in order to handle your enquiry (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO, i.e. Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; for other enquiries lit. f). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.
7. Links to external platforms
Our website links to external services (e.g. LinkedIn, Spotify, YouTube, podcast platforms). Only when you click on such a link do you leave our website; the privacy policy of the respective provider then applies.
7a. Alumni area (login)
The alumni area is access-protected. Login is handled via Cloudflare Access (Cloudflare, Inc.): when you log in, your email address is processed to send a one-time code and verify your authorization (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Invitations are only sent to persons who have consented to joining the alumni network. Transfers to third countries are safeguarded by Cloudflare through EU standard contractual clauses.
7b. Update subscription (newsletter)
For our update subscription we use Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany). When you sign up, your email address is processed; registration uses a double opt-in procedure (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
8. Your rights
You have the following rights vis-à-vis us regarding your personal data:
- access (Art. 15 DSGVO / Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20),
- objection to processing based on Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO, i.e. Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 DSGVO / Art. 21 GDPR),
